Trust and Obey
When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.
But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
or the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.
Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey.
John H. Sammis
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

I have no good apart from You
A Miktam of David.
Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the LORD, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.” As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.
The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply; their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out or take their names on my lips. The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot.
The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.
I bless the LORD who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption.
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Snow arrived this morning
The first snow arrived at our village this morning, nice to wake up and see the fresh snow everywhere.
It’s been in the high areas for a couple of weeks but last night we got a dusting. And it’s coming down quite nicely as I type this.
It’s funny that I put a little snow effect on the blog yesterday and now I have it for real. ![]()
Windows 7 Release Candidate
Thought I would have a look at the new soon to be Windows OS.
I just could not get it to install from a disc ISO from the Microsoft site, I tried all the suggestions that were on offer, download again as it might have been corrupted, burn slower to disc, use different burning software.
Nothing worked, it just would not get passed a crucial stage of CD/DVD recognition after the initial boot and installation procedure. I even tried installing off a thumb drive but still arrived at the same error. I believe it is a SATA problem and until Microsoft sort it, it’s here to stay.
Thankfully there is a workaround, I was going to multiple boot anyway so it was a fine answer for me, all you need to do is unpack the Windows 7 software ISO to a folder on your hard drive, then run the setup.exe file and install it to the partition you have allocated for Win 7. Worked ok for me. Even the MBR is all done for you.
I must admit, it is very nice system to use. Will be looking forward to this one I am sure.
I also upgraded to the new WordPress 2.8 recently and for some reason images I post cannot be expanded to full size as they are clicked on? I will have to inquire and see how it can be rectified as most of the images I post are better appreciated when viewed fully.
Sunny Day
Still having problems finding a good avi video to mp4 converter, here I used the free Riva software to convert to FLV.
From a 114 mb avi file to a 5mb flv one is ok I suppose but you lose the quality. Guess I should buy a proper modern video recorder, this is from my Fujifilm S7000 camera, a number of years old now, but still a good camera. ![]()
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

Journey into Life
A discussion forum I was on recently posed the question ‘ what books have been most influential in your life’? I immediately thought about a little booklet called Journey into Life by a chap called Norman Warren. It was a booklet that God used when drawing me to become a Christian.
I picked it up from the open house that was instrumental in my being saved as mentioned in my testimony, there where lots of different gospel tracts about that place. I still have it with a number of others so I thought I would scan it and put it on this site.
I have edited this post since I first published it because I don’t think, in fact it can’t be, that this is the original booklet I had when I was saved.
As I scanned it I saw a stamp on it from whence it came and was taken aback. It came from Mackintosh evangelical fellowship in Cardiff.
I remember when I had become a Christian telling my boss on the farm that if we had to work this coming Sunday, which we hardly ever did unless there was something urgent that had to be done and could not wait, that I could not work. ’Oh why is that David’, was the kind reply, and with great joy I remember telling my boss ( Mr Alan Phillips ) that I was being baptised and that I had been saved recently.
My boss and his family where obviously thrilled, seeing that they were evangelical Christians. Anyway, remember that stamp on the booklet that I recenty noticed, well it just so happened that my boss was an elder at Mackintosh fellowship.
So, brothers, in whatever condition each was called, there let him remain with God.
