Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word.
Book of Psalms 119:67 ESV
For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.” It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.
To the Hebrews 12:6-8 ESV
But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness, and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have swerved from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already happened. They are upsetting the faith of some. But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.”
Paul’s Second Letter to Timothy 2:16-19 ESV
The question was asked on a good Bible study mail list I am attached to.
I don’t know, but once you experience God’s discipline in your life I would say your pretty much secure.
Would like to write a work on this one day.
One of my biggest questions is, does the fact of being bornagain mean you are of the Elect of God, that is, those who ultimately at the end of grace will be saved?
Just being honest here. I think when I have the answer to that and am convinced in my own mind I will be a much stronger Christian.
You can email me your thoughts to the question @ christian@holyfear.net

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
To the Hebrews 1:1-2 ESV
Says it all really.
Christianity is about a relationship with The Lord Jesus Christ and certainly not with the Mosiac Law.
This is the most listened to sermon on the site.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Gospel of John 1:14 ESV

For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned. Though we speak in this way, yet in your case, beloved, we feel sure of better things–things that belong to salvation.
Letter to the Hebrews 6:7-9 ESV
Are there any Bible teachers amongst us I think to myself. Or is it just people who are slaves to others, is no one full of faith and the Holy Spirit these days?
Can you see John 15 here maybe? If so, how do you interpret John 15?
Are we so arrogant to think that we have perfectly interpreted Scripture?
Mercy triumphs over judgement, oh, I forgot James maybe is not Scripture and Inspired.
May God discipline those who think so.

And he went out and wept bitterly.
Gospel of Luke 22:62 ESV

We have all received, grace upon grace.
Wonderful Saviour, Lord Jesus Christ.

I was once in darkness
Now my eyes can see
I was lost but Jesus sought and found me
O what love He offers O what peace He gives
I will sing for evermore He lives.
One of the first tunes I learnt as a Christian. Says it all really don’t you think.
Know the tune?

Enjoy the coming festivities as we remember the Word becoming flesh.
I do hope heaven has a sense of humour.
Dedicated to Heather.
