The supremacy of Christ’s sacrifice

For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Sacrifice

His image in my soul

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

Pure

Misconceptions

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Mat 11:30 ESV

40 years in the desert lugging around God’s commandments in the scorching heat of Sinai.

What a burden!

It’s hardly surprising the Israelites grumbled along the way!

Heavey burden

Or is it?

What we forget is that the ark was quite small, light and carried by 4 people

Ark

Men always have misconceptions about God and His dealings with us, we are so twisted and sinful that we just cannot see the beauty and perfection of the Deity.

God dwells in unapproachable light we are told in 1Titus 6:16 ESV

We think that God is unjust or harsh and yet in reality He is gentle and kind, full of mercy and everlasting Love.

What a sorry lot we are. Sad

‘Be holy for I AM HOLY’ and ‘love one another as I have loved you’ is that too much to ask for One who gave everything for us?

Read this Scripture and those above and think about your misconceptions of God.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.

1st letter of John 5:3 ESV

Come to me

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Matthew 11:28-29 NASB

I remember shortly after becoming a Christian, the oldest son of my boss ( Jonathan ) put up a poster on the wall in the dairy building on the top farm.

It was a picture of a leopard sleeping in a tree. The verse that was printed on the poster was the second part of Psalm 127:2

…He giveth His beloved sleep. KJV.

I thought it was quite fitting, I had found rest for my soul and my name was/is David.

דָּוִד david in Hebrew means ‘beloved’

The Gimp image editor

Why pay a lot of money for Adobe Photoshop when you can get the Gimp for free.

I managed to create this new image for the site from that sketch of Golgotha I came across in one of my books.
