Migrating to a dedicated server

Home PC

At the moment this domain is hosted on a shared hosting server with close to 1400 other websites on it, which to me is a bit excessive especially since I was told when I signed up that it would not hold more than 400!

So I am in the midst of migrating it to my personal  dedicated server. I have nearly finished and hope to make the switch soon, it’s quite surprising how much work is involved.

So if HolyFear experiences some downtime it will probably be when the nameservers are changed and that the change needs to propagate.  I have a feeling though that I have it all pretty much sorted and all should happen quite seemlessly, as if in a ‘twinkling of an eye’.  Afterwards the difference will be quite noticable and will allow me to do much more with the site.  Even live flash video streaming.

Carrot award – What is the Gospel?

I saw something stated on someones blog the other day that Calvinism is the Gospel!

Carrot for brains

That is surely worthy of a carrot award.  I honestly have to restrain myself from saying things at times when I see peoples statements like that.

Quo Vadis?

Anyway, here is another great gospel sermon from Wyn Hughes at Heath evangelical fellowship.

Words of Wisdom: John Elias

You are not called to believe as elect ones or as redeemed ones.  You must believe as a sinner before you can know anything.  You do not need to know who has been loved nor who has been elected; only believe in Him who justifies the ungodly.

John Elias preaching on John 3:16

Mr Elias was a strong predestinarian yet he preached with the fervour of John Wesley, a true Welsh Calvinistic Methodist indeed.

Carrot awards

I have had the thought on a new section for people who have carrots for brains.  It will basically be for the daft things people state or believe regarding Christianity.  Just a thought at the moment.

I guess Benny Hinn would feature quite a lot here.

Who knows I will probably end up awarding one to myself

Now I have to find a good carrot image!

The Righteousness of God

For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Paul’s letter to the Romans 10:3-4 ESV

Wyn Hughes @ Heath Evangelical does it again. The Gospel is preached.

Woe unto you!

Woe unto you!

Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened. For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest,’” although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” And again in this passage he said, “They shall not enter my rest.” Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.

The letter to the Hebrews 4:1-11 ESV

Have a good Lord’s Day as you worship God in spirit and in truth by the  power of the Holy Spirit whom God gives to every true Christian.  And remember Sunday is not the Jewish Sabbath which is kept from Friday evening to Saturday evening.

Neither is Sunday the Christian Sabbath but Jesus is our blessed rest, in Jesus we rest from trying to be put right with God, which is impossible by the works of the law.

Christians meet on Sundays amongst other days to worship and praise God through Christ who was raised by God from the dead on the third day after His atoning sacrifice for our sins.

I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet

The book of Revelation 1:10 ESV

Notice it does not say I was in the Spirit on the Sabbath!

And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.

Paul’s letter to the Colossians 2:13-17 ESV

The Christian life is one of living and walking by the Holy Spirit whom God gives and  not by adhering to the Mosaic law.  Lots of people seem to have a big problem trying to understand this.  Mainly I think because they lack the reality of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

I have actually been called antinominian for my thoughts on the Lord’s Day, it’s rediculous.

Immortal Invisible God

Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, thy great name we praise.

Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might;
Thy justice like mountains high soaring above
Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.

To all life thou givest to both great and small;
In all life thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish but nought changeth thee.

Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,
Thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight;
All laud we would render: O help us to see
‘Tis only the splendour of light hideth thee.

Walter Chalmers Smith

“Hear, O kings; give ear, O princes; to the LORD I will sing; I will make melody to the LORD, the God of Israel.

Book of Judges 5:3 ESV

And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

The Apostle Paul’s letter to the Ephesians 5:18-20 ESV

The Love of the Son of God

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Paul’s letter to the Galatians 2:20 ESV

My Hope is built on nothing less than Jesu’s blood and righteousness.

The love of the Son of God

The Son of God loved me.

Praise Your name Jesus.

When Darkness veils his lovely face,
I rest on his unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
my anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, his covenant, his blood
supports me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
he then is all my hope and stay.

Edward Mote

Lord have mercy on Judas.
